Research on Nordic Co-productions for Kids.
During the last three years The Financing Forum for Kids’ Content, has seen a decline in eligible project submissions from producers in the Nordic countries (from up to 75% to 25-40%) and a similar trend has been noticed in the production funding applications received by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

The assumption is that this trend will not change by itself and – if no new initiatives are made – it is foreseen that the number of Nordic co-productions for children and youth will further decrease in both quantity and distribution.

The research will investigate Why are fewer producers collaborating with their Nordic neighbours? What are the main obstacles for them and how might they be mitigated or removed? Is the decline even considered to be a concern among content producers and if not, why not?

Key figures and findings will be shared during The Financing Forum in March and a full report available in April 2019.

The Research is done by Mi Ahnhem Thomsen for The Financing Forum for Kids Content and co-organised by and with a grant from Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
